About W.A. (中文版請按這裡)

The full name of W.A. is Work Assignment. It is an assignment specially for Hotel Management, and it is a pratical class about front line of hotel.
We believe that all of you have got some ideas what W.A. is from the previous 4 themes in Windows Cafeteria.
For those people who experienced it before, your memories may be called back.
And for those year 1 students in Hotel MGMT who have not experienced it yet, may feel excited and also anxious.
The reason is that, at the same moment next year, the one who are doing what we are doing now, is YOU.

In fact, W.A. is not only about canteen, but also include room, front office and food and beverage division.
You will have more chance to take part in the front line of hotel industry, to face your guest, and practise the theory and skills that you have learned in year 1.

Now the part that you are participating is the part of food and beverage management.
Except canteen, there are still 3 parts included which are kitchen, restaurant operation and dining etiquette.

About kitchen, it will be similar to your T&P class in year 1.
You need to report your duty in the kitchen; remember to be on time, care about your uniform and safety.

In the restaurant part, you will have chance to be any post in a restaurant, including Manager.
How to perform above the standard, help your colleagues as help yourself and get the best profit ratio, will be the issues you need to concern most.

About canteen and dining etiquette, we will talk about it next time.
Last but not least, "Team work" is needed anytime and anywhere.
